ACCESS

The ACCESS program continues to provide essential transportation services to older adults, people with disabilities and clients of human service agencies during the pandemic. In addition to normal duties, the program has delivered over 140,000 meals and 8,000 boxes of personal protective equipment to neighbors in need since April 2020. ACCESS has also provided transportation for 400+ at-risk community members to receive their coronavirus vaccination across Allegheny County. The program collaborated with the Department of Human Services to provide transportation for community members in need of a warm, safe overnight shelter during the winter. Paratransit drivers (as seen in these photos) have been the friendly faces at the frontline of these efforts, ensuring community members are supported during this challenging time.
